What is a MOPPET?

MOPPETS are the infants and preschool age children of our MOPS moms! The Thursday MOPS group offers free childcare for the MOPPETS during the meeting so that the moms may enjoy a morning free from worry and distraction while their children are lovingly cared for in the same building.

The people who care for the MOPPETS are dedicated, loving volunteers with many years of experience as parents, grandparents, and/or child care providers. In caring for your children, they demonstrate their love for little ones and provide a time for moms to share with other moms and be strengthened in their role.

We are blessed to have over 20 mature volunteers to care for and love your little ones while you enjoy your morning. Those volunteers are assisted each month by 7th and 8th graders from St. John Lutheran School. The children are grouped by age and enjoy classrooms with toys, books and activities. They have a playtime, educational activities, Bible lessons and a snack.

Child registration is required for the MOPPETS program to ensure we provide adequate staffing, and it does fill up quickly! Moms must be registered St. John MOPS members in order to take part in the MOPPETS childcare. The Thursday MOPS group meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at St. John Church. (There is also a MOPS group that meets on 2nd Mondays without the free childcare.) To find out more about either group, contact the following:

We are also looking for volunteers willing to spend one morning each month caring for our MOPPETS.
