Computer Lab Print

In 2008, St. John underwent a complete upgrade and renovation of the school computer lab. In addition to offering 19” flat panel monitors at each of the 30 work stations, we are now using Wyse Computer Terminals.  They utilize Zero Client computing, running a full complement of WinXP applications.
Students (Grades 1-8) are scheduled once a week for computer class but can also come in at other times during the week, as dictated by the teacher, for other classroom projects.  The curriculum includes instruction in keyboarding skills (beginning in 2nd grade), internet use and safety, basic MS Office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, publications and presentations) as well as media production at the middle school level.
Families also have the option to sign up for at-home access to the student’s applications, programs and data folders, offering the convenience of working at home on school work and projects.
