A Christian Connection for All Generations

The St. John Church and School Foundation was established on November 11, 1987, by the Voters Assembly of St. John Lutheran Church.  Its origin resulted from several far-sighted members who went to work to organize and inform the congregation about the importance of a foundation, and how it might become an integral part of the future of St. John.

The assets of the Foundation are derived entirely by special gifts from members of the congregation and the community at large.  The Foundation assets are invested in income and growth securities, and in real estate of specific benefit to the congregation.  Only interest derived from interest, dividends and capital gains on these gifts is used for distribution to specific ministry needs.

The 14 established funds are:
School Education Needs Fund School Technology Fund
School Tuition Assistance Fund School Special Education Fund
Youth Ministry Fund Church Worker Salaries Fund
Church Worker Scholarship Fund Outreach Fund
Congregation Maintenance Fund Christian Care Fund
Dr. Kaiser Education Enrichment Fund Bible Study Fund
Church & School General Fund Music Fund

Support for our school in any amount can be made to the Foundation via thanksgiving offerings, memorials, or special celebration gifts.  Anniversaries, weddings and baptisms are also occasions which might be marked by a donation to the Foundation.

Please contact any of the Foundation Governors (listed below) for questions regarding the St. John Lutheran Church & School Foundation.  A message can be left at (248) 402-8000, and your call will be returned promptly.
