The Talon Club provides an avenue for parents and students to support our student body in their extracurricular activities. It is a new endeavor at St. John, and is continuously changing to meet the needs of the student body. This year, the Talon Club was active in:
Locker Decorations: The Talon Club seeks to motivate students via their athletic, academic and extracurricular achievements. We do so by recognizing those children who play on a team, participate in the musical, sing in choirs, play in a band, achieve high honors (i.e. Future City, Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, etc.)
Pep Assemblies: Coordinated by our Principal, the assemblies pump up the student body for upcoming athletic events, as well as getting non-athletes and younger students involved in fun competitions.
Pep Club: Led by a parent volunteer, the Pep Club designs and creates signs for home athletic competitions, to encourage participation of both athletes and non-athletes.
Concessions: All concession profits are donated to the athletic program to keep the “pay to play” fee as low as possible. The volunteers that run concessions are parents of the appropriate sport for the season; parental involvement is a requirement of having your child in that particular sport.
