Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the forty days preceding Holy Week called Lent.  It is a time to turn toward God in repentant openness toward His will in transforming us into His likeness.  In addition to the Lord's Supper, our contemplative Ash Wednesday services will feature the "Imposition of Ashes" as a reminder of our mortality apart from Christ.

Ash Wednesday worship will take place in the Church Sanctuary on February 26 at 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM.  A soup supper will also be served between services (approx. 5:30-6:45 PM) in the gymnasium.  The St. John Elders will be serving spaghetti & meatballs, salad and rolls for all to enjoy. This is not only an opportunity for great fellowship and a tasty meal, it is an opportunity to be generous with your free will donations! Free will donations will benefit St. John's "Love for Others Fund" that assists those in our congregation and community experiencing financial hardship.  Bring the whole family and enjoy a delicious dinner before or after worship!
