The Red Letter Challenge is an inter-generational 40-day discipleship challenge that began with worship on September 7-8. In the Red Letter Challenge our St. John church and school family will be introduced, through the words of Jesus, to the main principles of being a disciple. If you are tired of just checking religious boxes, if you know that you were made for something more, and if you want to make a greater difference in the world, the Red Letter Challenge is for you!
To experience the maximum impact from the challenge we encourage each of you to:
WORSHIP - We are planning powerful worship, music and transformational sermon messages each weekend as the theme of the week is introduced , . READ - Your copy of the book The Red Letter Challenge by Zach Zehnder is now available in the sanctuary lobby and school Atrium. A suggested donation of $10 per book would be greatly appreciated. Daily readings (3-4 pages) in the book are the basis of the study that focuses on the words of Jesus and on applying them to our lives. A kid's version of The Red Letter Challenge will also be utilized among our children's ministries, including Sunday School, Lighthouse, Day School chapels and classroom devotion time.
CONNECT - It is not too late to sign up for a small or large group that will be meeting at various times throughout the week to go deeper with the study. Many individuals in our church and school community are already part of ongoing small and large groups that have been transformational in their walk with Christ. If you are not already in a current study group, this is your chance to go deeper in your faith, get connected and be encouraged.
