Our Lord calls us to reach out to all people with the touch of His merciful love, and that happens right in the shadow of St. John’s steeple. There are many ways to become a part of St. John’s local mission. These include:
On select dates each month, St. John sponsors meals at HOPE Shelter. Volunteers donate food items or help serve meals to the homeless at the only emergency shelter in Oakland County. To sign up for specific dates or to donate items, CLICK HERE.
St. John sponsors and serves a meal once a month at Rochester Community House’s Community Kitchen. This once a month meal is for homebound and low-income seniors.
We are delighted to help St. Paul in Pontiac meet the basic needs of those in their community. Food, clothing, and other supplies are regularly gathered to provide direct assistance to those in need.
We have the opportunity to share the light of God’s love with others during the holidays. Volunteers provide Christmas gifts for children in difficult circumstances in the metro Detroit area. Additional volunteers bundle the gifts, deliver them, help host a Christmas party for the recipient children where they receive their gifts, etc.
Keep an eye on the Weekly Connection and watch our website for upcoming ways to get involved!
