Our Women's Ministry is an active, vibrant part of the St. John family that seeks to nurture every woman's relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through spiritual growth and encouragement. Women are invited to grow through a range of Bible study opportunities, fellowship activities, special events, and opportunities to serve. For more information on any of our Women's Ministries, please contact us.
All women are welcome to come and usher in the Advent and Christmas season at a beautiful brunch held in late November or early December each year. Volunteer hostesses prepare their tables with beautiful place settings and festive decorations. Guests at the brunch enjoy delicious food, seasonal singing, prayer, devotional time, a Christian guest speaker, and relaxing time together with other Christian women.
Apples of Gold
This is a popular mentoring program for women. God tells us in His Word that the older women are to teach or mentor the younger women. In past generations this happened more easily because extended families usually lived near each other and experiences were passed down from generation to generation. In Apples of God classes, we are providing an opportunity for young women to learn spiritual truths and how to apply them to their family life. Plus there is a fun cooking lesson each week! Each session includes one hour of cooking demonstration and one hour of teaching on various family related issues, followed by lunch together based on the food that was prepared earlier.
Our St. John MOPS groups provide a setting where Moms of children from birth through kindergarten can go to meet like-minded Christian women also passing through this unique stage of life. The women are of varied ages and backgrounds, but share the same desire -- to be the best moms they can be. We offer two different MOPS groups - a Monday morning group and a Thursday morning group. From time to time, retreats are arranged especially for women, with the chance to enjoy a short getaway (usually on a weekend) while building a closer relationship with Jesus and with other Christian women.
